How to select Jewish wedding rings
Nowadays, the wedding ring is the most prominent symbol during and after the Jewish wedding. In accordance with tradition, Jewish wedding is usually characterized by meaningful rituals and symbols of relationship of braid and groom, and their commitments mainly to each other but also to Israel, the Holy Land. The wedding ring is a beautiful, everyday jewel, but also an important symbol of the couple's union.
"With this ring, you are consecrated to me according to the law of Moses and Israel."
Traditional and common Jewish wedding rings are smooth gold rings. They are simple, polished, and after a while are frequently worn with other, more stylish ring on the same finger.
Today it is accepted by Orthodox Jewish leaders that a wedding ring must comply a few rules:
- made of precious metal (usually gold, but silver is accepted as well).
- straight, smooth and uniform edges/borders
- solid, even, smooth and imperforated internal ring surface - ring base.
These rules are widely accepted and allow the upper surface of the ring to be creatively manipulated for personalized stylish wedding rings, without a need in any other ornaments.
So what can you do:
- silver and gold - mixing metals is not only cheaper but also very beautiful and fashionable. Silver is perceived as a calming material and gold as an energizing one. Mixing the metals enables a perfect balance.
- spinner rings - comprised of a base ring and one or more thinner rings that are moving and spinning around the base ring. This is a dynamic ring with calming effect.
- engraved rings - the ring can be engraved with meaningful phrases such as known biblical, religious verses, Kabbalistic phrases, or just a line from your favorite poetry.

It is approximately equal to 3.141593 and thereby, the pi day is celebrated on March 3 (3/14) annually.
